We conducted a 3-stage public engagement exercise to solicit public views :
The Stage One Public Engagement of Cross Bay Link project aimed to understand public anticipation of the project. Briefing session, focus group meetings, roving exhibitions and the Design Ideas Invitation Event were organized and various associations and Sai Kung District Council were consulted. In the Design Ideas Invitation Event “My Vision of Cross Bay Link”, a total of 48 design entries were collected from the professional group and open group, and 12 winning entries were selected by the Jury Panel.
Stage 2 (March 2010 - July 2010) : Selection of preferred optionPublic ideas and concepts embedded in the 12 winning entries had been taken into consideration in developing 6 design options for the Cross Bay Link. A public briefing session was held at Kin Choi Community Hall, Kin Ming Estate, on 11 March 2010 to introduce the 6 design options to the public, followed by holding a series of roving exhibitions at 5 different venues in Tseung Kwan O. In order to gauge the public preference on the 6 design options, a preference survey was conducted simultaneously with the exhibitions.
Stage 3 (February 2012 – April 2012) : Presentation of the proposed scheme of Cross Bay LinkStage 3 public engagement activities were hosted for the residents of housing estates in the vicinity of the proposed road alignment to introduce the proposed scheme of Cross Bay Link in conjunction with the Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel project.
